Corporate Wellness
I have highlighted six videos on my YouTube channel which are all suitable for anyone new to yoga and for anyone who is currently working from home and usually works in an office. I always incorporate elements of mindfulness into my yoga classes, creating a very relaxing experience which helps to reduce stress.
1. Chair Yoga for Neck & Shoulders (10 minutes)
I designed this short 10 minute yoga class to stretch out the neck and shoulders. There is no need to roll out a yoga mat and you can complete the sequence whilst sat down at your desk.
2. Yoga for Working from Home (30 minutes)
If you are working from home and/or spending a lot of time at a desk then this class is designed for you. This 30 minute class includes poses to stretch out the hips and legs as well as the chest and shoulders.
3. Guided Meditation (Yoga Nidra) (10, 15 & 20 minutes)
Yoga Nidra is a form of guided meditation. It is extremely accessible as it is taken lying down and is always guided, leading the you to the point between wakefulness and sleep. Yoga Nidra is a powerful way to rest as well as relax the entire body. Yoga Nidra has been shown to be effective in scientific trials for conditions including chronic pain, sleep problems, depression and anxiety, and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD); while increasing health, resiliency and well-being. I have a 10 minute, 15 minute and 20 minute Yoga Nidra on my YouTube channel that focus on rest and relaxation and you can use at any time of the day, perhaps before you sleep, when you wake as a break throughout your working day. Make sure you turn off auto-play on your YouTube app to ensure that are not disturbed by the next video once you have completed the Yoga Nidra.
4. Yoga for Focus & Concentration (30 minutes)
It can be hard to focus and concentrate whilst working from home so I designed this 30 minute yoga class to help. This is a gentle sequence that focuses on stretching the entire body as well as helping to quiet a busy mind.
5. Energising Yoga for the Whole Body (30 minutes)
This 30 minute yoga class is energising and stretches and strengthens the entire body. There is still an emphasis on relaxing the body and quietening the mind and this sequence promises to leave you feeling revitalised and rejuvenated.
6. Yoga for the Lower Back (20 minutes)
Working at a desk all day, either at home or in the office, can be uncomfortable for the body and there can be a tendency to have issues with the lower back. This 20 minute yoga class stretches out the hips and legs as well as improving mobility and flexibility in the spine, perfect for counteracting a large amount of time sat down.
