What is Yoga Nidra?
Yoga Nidra is a form of guided meditation taken lying down that leads you into the healing and deeply restful state between waking and sleeping. The form of Yoga Nidra I offer is inspired by my 31 hour Level 1 Yoga Nidra training with iRest (developed by Richard Miller). iRest Yoga Nidra has been shown to be effective in scientific trials for conditions including chronic pain, sleep problems, depression and anxiety, and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD); while increasing health, resiliency and well-being.
What is a Dyad (co-meditation)?
A Dyad is only offered in one-to-one sessions and is a form of co-meditation between two people. A Dyad follows a clear structure; the Witness asks a question, holds the space, and practises empathetic listening (without verbal or nonverbal reaction) and the person receiving the Dyad describes their experience verbally. The form of co-meditation I offer comes from iRest (developed by Richard Miller) and provides an opportunity to meet without agenda to fix or change but simply welcome everything, just as it is.
Dyads can have a profound long-term impact on a person's capacity to meet the fullness of life's emotions without being hijacked by them. As a person experiences themselves more and more as a neutral observer, they may begin to know a deeper, more peaceful aspect of themselves that they may have been unaware of. Learn more on the Dyads Co-Meditation page.
What is Restorative Yoga?
Restorative Yoga calms the nervous system and helps to move the body into 'rest and digest' (or the relaxation response). Supported, effortless and passive restorative poses are 'held' for 5-10 minutes, creating a sense of deep relaxation for the body and mind. Whether using restorative yoga for rest and rejuvenation or healing, this form of yoga can be a profoundly empowering. You will melt tension and enter a deeply meditative state, leaving you feeling completely refreshed and restored. The form of Restorative Yoga I offer is inspired by my 27 hour Restorative Yoga Teacher training with Jillian Pransky.
