Vinyasa Flow Yoga

Ailsa’s Vinyasa Flow Yoga classes promise to leave you feeling light, revitalised and equally stretched and strengthened. Ailsa’s lively and energetic classes are characterised by smooth and constant movement synchronised with the breath. Creative and intelligent sequencing of poses ensure that your body is moved through all planes of movement whilst aligning with accuracy and safety. Each class is accompanied with eclectic and thoughtfully selected music allowing you to immerse yourself in this moving meditation whilst calming your mind and reducing stress.  Ailsa’s classes are for all levels and suitable for everyone from beginners to those more experienced at practising yoga. Ailsa gives a number of options in more challenging poses to accommodate all levels. Overall, Ailsa’s Vinyasa Flow Yoga classes are a deeply relaxing, meditative and physically rewarding experience.

Hatha Yoga

This calming and relaxing class links flowing movement with the breath, while stretching out the whole body.  The heart of this yoga practice is an awareness of your breath and a sense of grounding in the present moment.  This class has been designed to be accessible to all levels of physical yoga practise and more invigorating poses including core work and balances will be peppered throughout the sequence as these are key for mobility in the body and the health of the spine.  Each class is accompanied with thoughtfully selected music and promises to leave you feeling re-energised, revitalised and rejuvenated.

Vinyasa & Yoga Nidra

Join Ailsa for an hour of energetic and uplifting Vinyasa Flow Yoga and restful and restorative Yoga Nidra.  The epitome of from yang to yin, each class will begin with a sequence of flowing movements linked with the breath and close with an extended relaxation of Yoga Nidra.  The Vinyasa Flow sequence will guide you through a moving meditation that stretches and strengthens your whole body.  The Vinyasa Flow portion is designed to clear the mind, release tension and create space for you to land back in your body, preparing you to enjoy the restful stillness of Yoga Nidra.  The rejuvenating, restorative and grounding practice of Yoga Nidra comprises the final portion of the class. Yoga Nidra is a form of meditation practised lying down and guides you between sleep and wakefulness.  This state is profoundly nourishing and restorative and helps you to guide your body into the rest and digest nervous system response.  Connect inwards, cultivate stillness and experience deep rest with Ailsa’s Vinyasa Flow Yoga and Yoga Nidra classes.

Mandala Vinyasa Flow Yoga

The Mandala Vinyasa Flow Yoga sequence involves moving around the yoga mat in all directions.  Flowing, smooth and constant movement synchronised with the breath as well as the creative, playful and flowing Mandala sequence combine to create an uplifting and energising style of class.  Immerse yourself in this moving meditation to stretch and strengthen the body, calm the mind and reduce stress.  Each class will explore one of the five elements from the yoga tradition.  Each element is linked to a different area of the body, a different Chakra and a different aspect of your life.  Towards the end of the class, you will be guided to a restorative, restful and grounding close, preparing your body, mind and spirit for the rest of your day.

Restorative Yoga & Yoga Nidra

Relax, rest and renew with Restorative Yoga and Yoga Nidra guided by Ailsa.  This class will open with pranayama (breathwork) to help ease your body and mind into the grounding, restful and deeply meditative restorative yoga poses. Restorative Yoga poses utilise props to completely support the body so that they are passive and effortless.  Restorative Yoga is designed to guide your body into the rest and digest nervous system response where you can experience deep rest, and this style of yoga takes a slow and gentle approach so that you can relax all muscular effort and release tension. If you struggle to slow down, rest and/or sleep, Restorative Yoga offers you a haven of stillness and tranquillity.  The rejuvenating and nourishing practice of Yoga Nidra builds on these passive poses to comprise the final portion of the class.  Yoga Nidra is a form of meditation practised lying down and guides you between sleep and wakefulness.  This state of dreamtime offers you space to connect inwards, cultivate stillness and deeply rest.
